Our Story
In 2008, a young man took a trip to East Asia. This trip made him aware more than ever of the need to bring the gospel to unreached people groups, especially to groups in western China. A trip to the Tibetan areas of China in 2011 birthed a vision to reach the Tibetan people with the gospel. Over the years the vision for missions in this “uttermost” region grew, along with a burden to pray for these unreached people.
As we have prayed, bumbled about, and sought to feebly step out in faith, God has opened opportunities to advance the cause of the gospel among the Tibetan people. The way forward may seem difficult, the obstacles may seem insurmountable, and the progress may seem slow, but our trust is that ultimately King Jesus will conquer. Our call is to follow Him.
Mountain Rain at a Glance
Mission Statement
Our mission at Mountain Rain is to see the gospel spread throughout Tibet. We aim to encourage, equip, and support local believers who believe that God has called them to preach the gospel to the Tibetan people.
Our Core Values
We exist to serve and support local believers in their vision to vision to reach Tibet for Jesus Christ.
We are not the leaders of the mission, Christ is.
We are not the front line workers.
We are the support line for those who are going out.
Our Philosophy
A word we hear often in regards to missions in Tibet, is, “impossible.” But we believe that there are no closed countries, only regions that need to be reached creatively. Tibet is not a gospel hardened place, but a land that needs to continually plowed up in prayer in preparation for the gospel. With God, all things are possible!
